The movie started with the simple explaination of a supernatural black arts of keeping a child ghost so fortune would come their way easily. But of course, anyone who practice such arts should know that it comes with a price. A horrible price and James (Jason Chang) was about to learn how he had to pay for the sins of his ancestors.

James had inherit the Yang Mansion 20 years later after the entire household except one died in an inexplicable mass suicide by hanged to their deaths in the same hour, place and height, leaving the case unsolved due to it's mysterious circumstances. James decided to accept his inheritance so he could live there with his wife to be, Yo (Terri Kwan). To celebrate their new found fortune, James and Yo invited their close friends, Yi-Cheng and Ah-Tseng, to sleep over with them in the huge place.

As the supernatural events unfold, James and Yo unveil the secrets of James family fortune. They found out how James's famly fortune was built on the aid of a baby ghost who fed on blood and refused the opportunity to reincarnate and somehow kind of back fired on his family after a while.

Do not expect any ghostly apparition in this movie cause the movie orbits around the tragedy of James' ancestry and the Baby ghost was only a secondary factor in this movie. It's sad that I can't seem to connect with the main characters in this movie. I guess this movie just implies how some people just morally wrong. great lightnings and scenes though. I had my edge of the seat moments while waiting this but the usual mental horror tugger for asian's horror flicks seemed to be barely available in this movie.

Samara is back and no, it isn't that scary but it's creepier than the first movie. There is a slight difference in how she "grabs" her victims this time. The haunting rules has change and this time, if the watcher didn't get another person to watch the tape after him within the 7 days limit, they would die a horrible death. of course this leaves Samara a really good way to travel around the place.

Rachel Keller and her son, Aiden moved away from the city to live in rural town somewhere for a new start. things was going well for a bit until she heard about a a gruesome death that happened to a young boy which left Rachel very much curious cause the radio kept repeating about the hideous deformation of the victim's face. Curiousity overcame her and she just had to see for herself. Upon arriving to the crime site, she watched a young girl being driven away by the police looking stunned and blank; she managed to get into the ambulance to take look at the corpse, and realized, Samara was behind the murder and worse, coming after them! And the chase and investigation started again cause Aiden was beginning to behave strangely and it turned out Samara had managed to possessed him. Samara wanted Rachel to be her "mummy".

Ring Two was pretty much a dull one for me except for the nice special effects that involved water and deers. Maybe it's being "'Americanized" too much to fit the "What scares the people in the west?", regardless it was Director Hideo Nakata who directed this movie, that I felt th lack of real horror in this movie. I'm pretty much used to his Eastern Horror products that really leaves the mental state in horror for weeks that this Americanized don't really affect me much. The Ring Two focus more upon the usual west horror style genre that involve the lighting and the gloomy settings and dark lighting. I'm glad he let the "hair" trademark in this movie. Overall, it's a good movie to watch.

Being blacklisted by the jocks on their homecoming nights, the 3 girls; Samantha, Gina and Mindy; stayed at home for the night entertaining themself with Urban legends and most of all "Bloody Mary", which followed with laughter when each of them cited it, 3 times, only to disappeared the next day, drugged and kidnapped by the jocks themselves. Samantha began having hallucinations and haunting dreams of some girl getting murdered and her body put away.

Freakish incidents such as death by tanning bed, spiders coming out from a wound, crushed by a vending machine; started happening to some of her friends and the authorities were baffled by these cases. In her school and the rest of the public however, people kept on starring at Sam like she has something to do with it after what she had published in their school newspaper. the only person who believed her was her twin brother, who kept by her even though what she's experiencing was pretty outrageous to believe. While they are sleuthing for answers, they found out all of these accidents happened before, when their parents were still at school.

This is one heck of a horror movie but isn't up to my standards of excellent horror movie cause it's more of a scary by music score instead of the actual movie being scary. But the storyline kept you watching till the end cause it's a race. I love Mary Banner's ghostly makeups and gimmicks. Reminds me of watching my favorite Asian horror movies.
