Hydrogenics Provides Warning on First Quarter Revenue

Hydrogenics Corp (HYGS) warned that first-quarter revenue would be below expectations because of production delays in its OnSite Generation unit. Hydrogenics said it expects revenue of $4.5 million to $6.5 million during the quarter. The Company also anticipates that it will secure a minimum of approximately $7.0 million of new orders in the first quarter of 2006.

Modine Awarded Subcontract on Department of Energy Fuel Cell Mine Loader Project

Modine Manufacturing Co (MODI) announced today that it has been awarded a contract with Vehicle Projects, LLC of Denver to supply thermal management hardware for a U.S. Department of Energy vehicle development and demonstration project. The nearly $8.6 million project will develop, manufacture, and demonstrate a mine loader powered by a fuel cell, along with associated metal-hydride storage and refueling hardware. Green energy seen as $100 billion market in decade

Renewable energy like wind and solar power and hydrogen fuel cells could blossom into a $100 billion a year global market in less than a decade as technology costs fall, according to a study. The combined market for "green" sources of energy has already grown 68 percent since 2002 to more than $16 billion last year, according to Clean Edge, a research and publishing firm based in California. Hydrogenics Receives Second Order for Multiple Test Stations from Leading Korean Energy Company

Hydrogenics Corp (HYGS) announced it has received orders for three FCATS® fuel cell test stations from GS Caltex, a leading Korean energy company. Hydrogenics will provide a FCATS G300 Test Station and two FCATS G50 Test Stations with delivery expected in 2006. Budget backs coal, hydrogen, nuclear

The Bush administration's budget for fiscal 2006 would provide more dollars to advance the production of domestic energy from coal, hydrogen and nuclear sources. The president's Hydrogen Fuel Initiative would receive an additional $35 million in funding in fiscal 2006, bringing total funding to $260 million. In 2003, Bush proposed $1.2 billion over five years to further the development of technologies to produce hydrogen and store hydrogen energy. The budget would also provide $3.6 billion in tax incentives through 2010 to spur renewable energy, as well as hybrid and fuel-cell vehicle purchases.

Company said to develop improved fuel-cell factor

PolyFuel plans to announce that it has achieved a breakthrough in fuel-cell membranes by using an alternative material: a hydrocarbon that it says costs only about half as much per square meter as the conventional material. Compared with the fluorine compounds that are the most commonly used for membranes in fuel cells now under testing, PolyFuel says that hydrocarbon membranes allow production of more electricity per square centimeter of membrane. That could mean that a fuel cell could produce the same power as a fluorine-membrane version, but would be smaller and lighter, according to the company. ...
