It’s his emphasis on new nuclear that I don’t like… and he thinks they can come online by 2027. The other parts of his platform generally work, but I think the emphasis on second gen nuclear will be a distraction that gets in the way of implementation. And although he is correct that people need to move to higher ground, and effort to do so now would also be a big political fight that distracts from implementation. So I’d say my main problem with his plan is I don’t think he would be able to achieve what is important and can be done because he will waste too much political capital on the weird stuff that is not politically feasible yet (move to higher ground) or ready for prime time technologically (advanced nuclear).

As an aside, why didn’t he tie his carbon tax plan to his universal basic income ideas? A carbon tax would be a great way to fund universal basic income. IF he were really committed to a carbon tax, why would he have not tied it to the idea that is core to his campaign?

However, you noted that from a policy perspective, Andrew Yang did not make the cut but did not explain why.
Can you explain what is is about Andrew Yang’s policy that you did not agree with?
Thank you.
