I just reached out to Borrego solar for possibly leasing 82 acres near Edwards AFB for solar farming and they were not interested. They didn’t provide an explanation but Tom’s comment may be valid. I’m going to reach out to Cypress Creek and see if they may be interested. Good luck with your project.

A couple national developers I know that do solar farms of this size (about 4MW) are Cypress Creek https://ccrenew.com/ and Borrego Solar https://www.borregosolar.com/. Both are private, so not in this list. You might also contact local commercial solar developers who work in your area. Just google “commercial solar Kern county” and call them up. A 20 acre flat parcel with a willing owner should be interesting to developers, especially if it’s close to three phase distribution lines (you can tell 3 phase from 2 phase because there are 3 wires with insulators on the top, instead of two.) The only other reason I can think that they might not be interested is if there are a lot of other solar farms in the area which might lead to problems getting transmission rights to sell power. Good luck!

I own 20 ac., flat in the desert. I am interested in leasing to someone for a solar farm.
If you know of companies that are interested I would appreciate you giving me their e-mail address so I can contact them.
